Originating from Indonesia, Chef Samuel brings a wealth of international experience and expertise, poised to redefine Suva’s patisserie culture to unparalleled levels of excellence. His remarkable journey includes pivotal roles in renowned establishments worldwide, contributing significantly to pre-opening teams in the Middle East and Papua New Guinea.

Notably, Chef Samuel has left his culinary imprint on esteemed hotels such as Conrad Dubai (part of Hilton Hotels & Resorts), Millennium Hotel Convention Center Kuwait, and The Stanley Hotel and Suites (Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea).

Chef Samuel Hutabarat’s illustrious hospitality career spans diverse experiences, from serving as a task force in various countries to catering for world leaders and managing culinary operations for renowned football teams. Notably, he achieved the Best Brunch at Traiteur Restaurant in Park Hyatt Dubai.

Now Grand Pacific Hotel Suva’s Executive Pastry Chef, Samuel oversees operations, develops innovative menus, and maintains stringent quality standards. His career highlights include catering for Indonesia President Joko Widodo’s State Visit and orchestrating events for APEC SOM 2018 and APEC Leaders’ Summit. Samuel’s culinary expertise has left a lasting impact in Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, and as Pastry Chef de Partie at Park Hyatt Dubai.

In addition to his responsibilities, Chef Samuel Hutabarat will play a pivotal role in developing Fijian talent to international standards within the realm of patisserie. Alongside training colleagues on menu items and enhancing their skills through intricate techniques, Chef Samuel will focus on nurturing local talent, empowering them to excel in the art of pastry making on a global scale.

Through mentorship programs and collaborative initiatives, he will instill a deep appreciation for the craft of patisserie while imparting the necessary skills and knowledge to meet international standards of excellence. By fostering a supportive learning environment, Chef Samuel aims to cultivate a new generation of pastry professionals who proudly represent Fiji on the world stage.
