Executive Chef, Mo Arun
The quality of our dining experience is a combination of our wonderful location, magnificent heritage building, attentive and professional service and, most importantly our culinary skills under the direction of our Executive Chef, Mo Arun.
Born and raised in Nadi, Mo initially trained at the then Fijian Hotel (now the Shangri-La) and Regent of Fiji (now The Westin Denarau Island Resort & Spa), prior to moving to New Zealand in the earlier nineties. Here he continued his training. Moving steadily through the ranks he honed his skills and perfected his trade in some of New Zealand’s best known hotels and restaurant. In 1997 he was appointed Executive Chef of one of Auckland’s most popular restaurants, Iguacu in Parnell, before moving to the renowned Stamford Plaza Auckland in 2007.
Mo is the proud recipient of many awards and accolades, including numerous New Zealand Culinary Fare Kitchen Team awards, the 2010 New Zealand Beef and Lamb Hallmark of Excellence Gold Plate Award, the 2008 New Zealand Metro Top 20 Restaurant awards and, for three consecutive years, the “Entertainment Gold Award” for Best Fine Dining Restaurant.
After an absence of twenty three years, Mo returned to his homeland to join us at GPH in December 2015. We are delighted to share his culinary skills and those of his team and are certain that you will enjoy the results.
