The GPH G and Tea: An Exquisite Journey Through Time and Taste
Introducing the GPH G and Tea, a cocktail that encapsulates the essence of Fijian craftsmanship, local produce, and the rich heritage of Suva’s most prestigious hotel – The Grand Pacific Hotel.
Since its establishment in 1914, The Grand Pacific Hotel has played host to a dazzling array of distinguished guests, from royalty and celebrities to adventurers and rock stars. Among them were Dame Nellie Melba and Charles Kingsford Smith, who stayed during his record-breaking trans-Pacific flight. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II graced the hotel with her presence twice, attending a grand ball in her honour in 1953 and a State Dinner in 1973.
Inspired by the hotel’s longstanding tradition of high teas on the balcony, the GPH G and Tea pays homage to this time-honoured ritual with a contemporary twist. Infused with Earl Grey tea, the cocktail features a delightful dusky note that is perfectly complemented by dried Fijian Batiri orange, evoking the subtle sweetness of marmalade.
To create a truly unique and refreshing taste, the GPH G and Tea is expertly crafted with Fiji’s own Blue Turtle Gin, resulting in a cool and multi-layered flavour profile that is sure to please the discerning palate.
