TEMPERATURE SCREENING & PROCEDURES IN THE EVENT OF A HIGH TEMPERATURE
Upon arrival at the Hotel, all guests will be directed to a temperature screening table before proceeding to check-in. Your temperature must be no higher than 37.7 degrees Celsius
If you have a temperature reading of 37.8 degrees Celsius or more, you will be re-directed to our Front Office Lounge. Another temperature check will be conducted within 10-minutes of your initial check
Should your temperature continue to display 37.8 degrees Celsius or more, you can expect to be re-directed to our Isolation Zone which is a cluster of rooms set aside from the rest of the Hotel. The Front Office team will then engage our Ministry of Health officials who will then take over, conduct more tests and advise on the next course of action (continued isolation or all clear to proceed to the Hotel’s check in desk).
DIGITAL VAX CHECK TOOL (FIJI RESIDENTS ONLY)
Following on from your temperature check, guests will be subject to a verification of vaccination status via the digital Vax check tool. All guests legible for vaccination will need to produce their vaccination cards together with a valid ID in order for our team to cross check against records from the Ministry of Health. We will input either a Birth and Registration number, Citizenship number or Work Permit number. We will extract information from your vaccination card.
In the event that there are anomalies with the online records from the Ministry of Health and the information shown on your vaccination card, we will need to escalate to our Duty Manger who will then in turn engage the Government authorities for verification. We apologize in advance as this may delay your ability to check in.
CHECK IN
Once you have completed your temperature check and digital vax check (where applicable), you will be able to proceed to the check in desk. Our Front Office staff will continue with check in procedures and will require once again your ID and vaccination card for all legible guests in your party. Payment for accommodation will be taken upon check in unless your package is a prepaid package.

TRAVEL INSURANCE
Travel plans change sometimes – but that doesn’t have to spoil your holiday. Travellers entering Fiji must have medical travel insurance, with international coverage that covers COVID-19 before travelling. If you or a family member tests positive for COVID-19 during your stay, appropriate insurance will be needed to cover costs related to room relocation and booking extensions, rebooking airline tickets and any associated medical costs.
DEPARTURE
Travellers may require COVID-19 test results to return to their countries of origin or another destination. This can be facilitated by the hotel on advance notice at the traveller’s expense.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU TEST POSITIVE WHILST IN-HOUSE
The following are guidelines as put together by the Care Fiji Commitment and are subject to change by the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport (MCTTT).
If guests get a positive test for COVID – The Ministry of Health & Medical Services (MHMS) will be notified and guests will remain in their room till MHMS/Doctor attends
The MHMS will then take over with the monitoring and testing of these cases
Then guests per MHMS will be moved into isolation blocks that have already been set aside within the Hotel.
The quarantine period is 10 days and this cost will be taken care of (borne) by the guests
Any additional tests will be at the expense of the guest
Expenses incurred from quarantine services can be offset against the booking that we have on file. The difference will be paid by the guests upon completion of quarantine
Tourism Fiji and Grand Pacific Hotel strongly recommend for all of our guests to take out COVID-19 insurance to mitigate against these costs
