11th April 2024 (Natadola, Fiji): FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels—InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel Suva, and Holiday Inn Suva—are taking another step forward in their sustainability journey by joining IHG’s Global “Meeting for Good” Program. This initiative highlights the hotels’ ongoing dedication to hosting environmentally responsible meetings and events, in line with their commitment to responsible business practices through IHG’s Journey to Tomorrow Program.

“Being at the forefront of sustainability is not just a responsibility; it’s a passion that drives us,” commented Lachlan Walker, Portfolio General Manager – IHG Hotels & Resorts, FNPF Owned Hotels. “We are thrilled to lead the way in sustainable meetings, setting a new standard for the hospitality industry in Fiji. Our dedication to these initiatives isn’t just about business; it’s about making a positive impact on our planet and communities.”

Hotel Practices
At FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels, we have introduced Digital Collateral & Sales Agreements to reduce paper waste. Additionally, we have implemented a Linen & Towel Reuse Program aimed at minimizing water and energy consumption as part of ‘Greener Stay’.

Meeting Space
To further our commitment to sustainability, we offer plastic-free water service and reduced HVAC and Lighting policies, effectively conserving valuable resources. Moreover, the utilization of Digital Signage for wayfinding purposes not only enhances the guest experience but also eliminates the need for single-use signage, contributing to our eco-friendly initiatives.

Food & Beverage
In our efforts to reduce waste, FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels have implemented a comprehensive Food Waste Reduction Action Plan. Our Banquet Menu Offerings feature locally sourced and plant-based options, aligning with our commitment to environmental responsibility. Additionally, the utilization of reusable banquet labelling & menus, along with providing reusable service ware, significantly minimizes waste generated during events and meetings.

FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels are aligned with IHG Hotels & Resorts’ commitment to True Hospitality for Good, guided by the Journey to Tomorrow 10-year action plan, which aims to create a positive impact on people, communities, and the planet.
