Executive Chef, Mo Arun

The quality of our dining experience is a combination of our wonderful location, magnificent heritage building, attentive and professional service and, most importantly our culinary skills under the direction of our Executive Chef, Mo Arun.

Born and raised in Nadi, Mo initially trained at the then Fijian Hotel (now the Shangri-La) and Regent of Fiji (now The Westin Denarau Island Resort & Spa), prior to moving to New Zealand in the earlier nineties. Here he continued his training. Moving steadily through the ranks he honed his skills and perfected his trade in some of New Zealand’s best known hotels and restaurant. In 1997 he was appointed Executive Chef of one of Auckland’s most popular restaurants, Iguacu in Parnell, before moving to the renowned Stamford Plaza Auckland in 2007.

Mo is the proud recipient of many awards and accolades, including numerous New Zealand Culinary Fare Kitchen Team awards, the 2010 New Zealand Beef and Lamb Hallmark of Excellence Gold Plate Award, the 2008 New Zealand Metro Top 20 Restaurant awards and, for three consecutive years, the “Entertainment Gold Award” for Best Fine Dining Restaurant.

After an absence of twenty three years, Mo returned to his homeland to join us at GPH in December 2015. We are delighted to share his culinary skills and those of his team and are certain that you will enjoy the results.

Our Dining Options

Located within the main Heritage building, Prince Albert is our premiere restaurant and opens nightly from 6.00pm. The perfect venue for that special occasion, Prince Albert offers an evocative setting, attentive service and fine food and wines in a casual and relaxed environment.

Under the expert guidance of our Executive Chef, Mo Arun, we are delighted to present a new dining experience at Grand Pacific Hotel – “a taste of the South Pacific”.

This menu, which has undergone some months of planning, development and of course testing, draws from the flavours and traditions of Pacifica, showcasing the very best of local produce in a way that is generally not found in Suva or indeed Fiji. Sourcing the freshest and most interesting of ingredients, we prepare and present them in a way that will tantalize the senses, marrying the traditional with a contemporary take.

Food that looks good, smells great and tastes even better. Just one example is the Vudi Vakasoso. This dessert pays homage to a traditional Fijian dish, with plantain bananas poached in coconut milk infused with cinnamon and cardamom, then drizzled with sugar cane caramel and garnished with mint.

The attached photos show the raw ingredients and then the finished dish. We can assure you it is delicious!

Named in the honour of Fiji’s first capital and located within our Heritage building, Levuka Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Framed by the historic façade of Fiji’s colonial past, the interior dining area extends out into the extremely popular al fresco Terrace area that leads onto the pool deck and overlooks Suva Harbour.

Be sure to enjoy our sumptuous breakfast buffet, a feature of which is our wonderful fresh juice bar that offers a tantalising choice of the very best seasonal fruits and vegetables to be found in Fiji. Couple this with what is arguably Suva’s best barista coffees and there can be no better start to the day.

Our lunch and dinner menus, supplemented by a range of daily specials, offer a feast of fine flavours with an enchanting array of eastern, western and authentic Fijian cuisine options.

As an added bonus, we feature live entertainment on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights by well-respected and acclaimed local musician, Seru Serevi and his band.

Quite simply, there is no better place in Suva to enjoy sundowners than pool side at Na Toba. Sit back, relax and watch the ever changing magnificence of the sun setting over Suva Harbour. Framed by the silhouetted mountain back drop, the rhythmic and sonorous beat of the Lali drums and the flickering of the tiki lights, dusk at Grand Pacific Hotel is a magical and timeless Fiji experience not to be missed.

With absolute water frontage, Na Toba is also open during the day and our extensive range of cocktails can be complemented by our special snack menu or, should you feel like something more substantial, our full a la carte Levuka menu is also available.

Located on level one of the Heritage building the Victoria Lounge, with is wide veranda and panoramic views over Suva Harbour, offers an exclusive and private venue for our Club and Heritage Room guests. As well as providing an inclusive full buffet breakfast and evening canapés and cocktails, Club guests can make arrangements to use the lounge or veranda area for private lunches or diners, or as a comfortable area to simply relax and enjoy.

Located within the Heritage building and open every day until late, Steamship is a popular bar and meeting place for both locals and hotel guests.

Open daily from 10.00 am until 9.00 pm, the GPH Bakery offers a mouth-watering array of fresh breads, pastries, sumptuous cakes and other delicacies to tempt and delight. Using only the finest ingredients, all of our breads and cakes are baked fresh on location.
